Most people think of Purgatory as a ski resort. But when the snow melts, the resort transforms into a summer playground worth a trip on its own.

The Alpine Slide

A concrete track winding down the mountain — you control speed with a hand brake on a wheeled sled. Kids love it. Adults love it more than they'll admit.

The Chairlift

Purgatory runs its chairlift in summer for sightseers and hikers. Ride up for panoramic views of the Needles Range, then ride back down or hike one of the resort's trails. Over 10,000 feet with views stretching for miles.

Mountain Biking

The bike park opens with lift-served downhill trails for all levels. Rent bikes at the resort if you didn't bring your own.

Hiking

Several trails start from the base area, including Purgatory Flats Trail — an easy, beautiful walk along a creek that's perfect for families. More ambitious hikers can access higher trails from the chairlift.

More Activities

Mini golf, bungee trampoline, and a climbing wall round out the base area. Enough to fill a full day, especially with kids.

Both of our Purgatory townhomes — Basecamp and Timberline — are right across from the resort with hot tubs, EV chargers, and free shuttle access.
