How the Free Purgatory Shuttle Actually Works

One of the best perks of staying near Purgatory Resort is the free shuttle. No fighting for parking. No scraping ice off your windshield at 4 PM. No navigating a dark mountain road after a long ski day.

How It Works

The shuttle runs throughout ski season, connecting lodging areas near the resort to the base area. It's free for everyone. The shuttle runs on a regular loop with scheduled stops, and during peak times it comes around frequently.

Where It Stops

The shuttle has several stops along Tacoma Drive and surrounding area. Both of our properties — Basecamp and Timberline — are right on the shuttle route, making the morning commute to the lift about as easy as it gets.

Tips for Riding

Morning: Catch the shuttle about 30 minutes before you want to be on the mountain. Give yourself time for boots, tickets, and a bathroom break.

Afternoon: Busiest between 3:30 and 4:30 PM when the mountain closes. Ski until close and catch a slightly later shuttle for more space.

Gear: Skis and boards are welcome. Just be mindful of other riders and your pole placement.

Timing: Check the current season's schedule when you arrive — times can shift based on conditions and demand.

Why It Matters

Parking at Purgatory fills up on busy days, especially holidays and powder mornings. The shuttle eliminates that variable entirely. Wake up, eat breakfast, walk to the stop, ski.
