Durango Farmers Market: Saturday Morning Done Right

Every Saturday morning from May through October, the Durango Farmers Market takes over a section of downtown and turns it into a celebration of local food, crafts, and community. It's one of the best ways to experience Durango like a local.

What You'll Find

Local produce — lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, corn, squash, and more as the season progresses. Baked goods from local bakeries. Honey from area beekeepers. Meat from local ranches. Crafts, soaps, flowers, and artisan goods.

Prepared food vendors sell breakfast burritos, crepes, tamales, and other ready-to-eat options. Grab something hot and eat it while you browse.

The Vibe

It's social. Locals come as much for the people-watching and coffee as for the produce. Dogs on leashes, kids running between stalls, musicians sometimes playing on the sidewalk. It feels like the whole town is here.

Tips

Arrive early (the market typically starts around 8 AM) for the best selection and lighter crowds. Bring cash — not every vendor takes cards. Bring your own bags. The market is walking-distance from most downtown spots.

Make a Morning of It

Hit the farmers market, grab breakfast from a vendor, walk down to the riverwalk with a coffee, then head up to Purgatory for an afternoon of summer activities.

Both of our Purgatory townhomes — Basecamp and Timberline — are right across from the resort with hot tubs, EV chargers, and free shuttle access.
